Stupid things

3-21-10

Do you ever do stupid things? I like to pretend that I am completely perfect and that at no time in my life have I EVER done anything that resembles stupid or less than perfect. We all know that it isn't true. No one is infallible, albeit some of us are more fallible than others, but I digress.

This morning I was reflecting on some stupid things that I have done which made me feel really dumb but in time I have decided to share because well, to other people it will be hilarious. I guess I am channeling my inner Pioneer Woman, my favorite blogger, to "Keep it Real".

One of the first anedotes that came to mind was an incident that took place in the shower. No, this is not X-rated. I am usually an early riser and generally get up first thing in the morning and jump in the shower. The hot water serves to wake me up and also soothe out any sore muscles I might have. On this particular morning, I washed my hair as usual and then put in the conditioner. I leave the conditioner in and wash it out after completing the other menial tasks I need to do (wash face, shave legs, etc..). After washing out the conditioner I realized that my hair was not the same smooth texture it should be. It was tangly and hard to run my fingers through. Thinking that I had not put enough conditioner in, I went through the process again. I put in the conditioner and this time got a lot into my hair and then promptly rinsed. The same result took place again. I was hesitant to get out of the shower with such a mess in my hair so I once more went to get the conditioner to put it in my hair. It is at this point I should tell you the layout of my shower.
We have a dispenser in our shower that holds our shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (soap for those of you who are boys). All of the little levers are labeled with the appropriate titles and they always remain in the same place. On this particular morning, I guess my brain was not into reading and was more about the colors. Because instead of reaching for the conditioner the third time around I reached for the same item I had put in my hair two times previously, the body wash. Yes, I had thoroughly washed my hair with body wash two times in a row and was reaching for a third time when I finally awakened to the problem. READ the label. Needless to say I was embarrassed and never told the story until now. You may think that it's no big deal but it was a very silly mistake and now can you can relentlessly retell the story and make fun of me. Please change the names to protect my status as a person who NEVER makes any stupid mistakes.

I will continue the sage of the stupid things I have done next time.

I hope that you have a blessed day and thanks for reading my blog!
